Was born in Boston, MA...Under went Tommy John surgery on June 1, 2020. The surgery was performed by Dr. George Paletta in St. Louis. Returned to game action with San Francisco in 2021...After being released by the Yankees minor league system in 2013, Brebbia spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons pitching in Independent ball for the Sioux Falls Canaries (2014) and Laredo Lemurs (2015). Arizona eventually purchased his contract from the American Association in September 2015…Was a part of the 2018 Major League Baseball All-Star team that took part in the Japan All-Star Series in November 2018. Made three relief appearances during the series and also kept a running blog during his stay...Attended Elon University in Elon, NC where he pitched for the baseball team. During his freshman year, Brebbia helped the Phoenix secure an at-large bid to the 2009 NCAA Division 1 Baseball Tournament. In 2011, he went 7-1 with a 1.76 ERA in 27 relief appearances...John and his wife, Amanda, make their offseason home in Smyrna, GA and have two children

Was placed on the 45-day Injured List on Opening Day of the shortened 2020 season with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow and missed the entire season due to Tommy John surgery, performed by Dr. George Paletta in St. Louis on June 1.
