Motte was placed on the disabled list on March 29 with a strained right elbow, which was later diagnosed as a ligament tear. Motte declined to speculate whether he was on track with the typical 12-15-month timetable for recovery from the surgery.
"I just take it one day at a time," Motte said. "It was 20 throws into a net, it wasn't really that strenuous. You could get a 3-year-old to do that, so it wasn't really that tough. But it felt fine."
