With their 15th-round pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft (No. 455 overall), the Cardinals selected prep center fielder DeAndre Asbury-Heath.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect was a two-sport athlete at Brookland-Cayce High School in South Carolina and is among the top wide receivers in the state.
"He's an athlete. We're gonna have to have a little patience with him in terms of a performance standpoint, but he's got tools," scouting director Dan Kantrovitz said. "He's definitely what you would just call a deluxe athlete."
Asbury-Heath is committed to a South Carolina community college, but Kantrovitz said the Cardinals are optimistic they will be able to sign him quickly.
