ST. LOUIS -- With the Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up fast approaching, the club announced many of the details for its 13th annual fan festival Wednesday.
The Cardinals already revealed the vast majority of autograph times and auction items. On Wednesday, though, the club unveiled details regarding many of the other happenings and exhibits that make up the three-day event. The Winter Warm-Up is set to run Saturday through Monday at the Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis.
For many fans, one of the highlights of the Warm-Up is the opportunity to ask questions of members of the Cardinals field staff and front office, and they'll get that chance again this year.
General manager John Mozeliak will participate in a "one-on-one" session with fans in the Presentation Clubhouse on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. CT. Immediately following that, he'll take to the main stage for a Q&A session that runs from 3-4 p.m. CT. On Sunday at 1 p.m. CT, manager Tony La Russa will participate in a mainstage Q&A session.
Also on Sunday, several members of the front office will participate in a forum on the topic of "Bringing Stats and Scouts Together." Among those speaking in the Presentation Clubhouse from 3-4 p.m. CT will be assistant GM John Abbamondi, senior quantitative analyst Sig Mejdal, director of baseball development Mike Girsch and coordinator of baseball operations/pro scouting Matt Carroll.
Team president Bill DeWitt III will address fans in the Presentation Clubhouse on Monday at 9 a.m. CT. And at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, vice president of scouting and player development Jeff Luhnow and director of Minor League operations John Vuch will discuss the club's farm system.
Other appearances include World Series of Poker main-event finalist Dennis Phillips (Sunday, 3-4 p.m.), team photographer Scott Rovak (Saturday, Sunday and Monday, noon-1 p.m.) and members of the clubhouse staff in Rip Rowan, Jerry Risch and Ernie Moore (Saturday, noon-1 p.m.).
