Right-handed pitcher Mike Parisi was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis by the Cardinals, reducing their 40-man roster to 36.
Parisi appeared in 12 games (two starts) for the Cardinals in May and June with an 0-4 record and 8.22 ERA. For Memphis last season, he made 15 starts and was 8-2 with a 3.86 ERA.
The move left the Cardinals with four open spots on the 40-man roster. Thursday was the deadline for protecting players from the Rule 5 draft on Dec. 11.
