The Cardinals have signed 27 of their 44 selections from the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, including supplemental first-round picks Patrick Wisdom and Steve Bean.

St. Louis selected Wisdom, a junior third baseman at St. Mary's, with the 52nd overall choice. He was a compensation pick, awarded to the Cardinals for losing reliever Octavio Dotel to the Tigers via free agency.

Bean, a catcher from Rockwall High School (Texas), passed up a college career at the University of Texas to sign with the Cardinals. He was the 59th overall selection in the Draft, another compensation pick granted to St. Louis for the departure of starting pitcher Edwin Jackson to the Nationals during the offseason.
