Cardinals Minor League catcher Cody Stanley and Twins Minor League left-hander Aaron Thompson have been suspended for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, the Commissioner's Office announced Tuesday.
Both players received 50-game suspensions. Stanley was suspended after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine and Tamoxifen, while Thompson was suspended after a second violation for a drug of abuse.
The suspensions of Stanley -- on Class A Quad Cities' roster -- and Thompson -- on the roster of Triple-A Rochester -- will both begin at the start of the season.
