ORIOLES 2, CARDINALS 2 (10 innings)
at Jupiter, Fla.
Tuesday, March 11

Orioles at the plate: Melvin Mora and Brian Roberts both reached base on singles in the first inning, and Nick Markakis drove in the first run on a double play. Brandon Fahey singled in the third inning and moved up three bases on a passed ball and a wild pitch. Mora walked later in the game, and Markakis singled in the fifth.

Cardinals at the plate: Center fielder Colby Rasmus drew two walks. Yadier Molina, Adam Kennedy and Cesar Izturis got the home team's only hits in the first six innings. Pinch-hitter Mark Hamilton drove the first run home with a fielder's choice in the fourth inning, and one batter later Kennedy drove home the second run with a single.

Orioles on the mound: Daniel Cabrera worked three-plus innings and only allowed one hit on Tuesday, but he walked five batters and went to three-ball counts on eight of the 15 batters he faced. Roberto Novoa gave up two hits and an earned run in the fourth, and right-handed relievers Dennis Sarfate and Lance Cormier both threw a scoreless inning.

Cardinals on the mound: Todd Wellemeyer threw four innings and allowed five hits, but he was victimized by a lack of control in the fourth inning, when a passed ball and a wild pitch allowed one Baltimore run to score. Jason Isringhausen pitched a perfect inning for the Cardinals, and southpaw Ron Villone threw two scoreless frames.

Grapefruit League records: Orioles 6-5-2, Cardinals 5-8-1.

Up next: Anthony Reyes returns to action on Wednesday after skipping his last scheduled start due to illness. He'll take what was supposed to be the rotation turn of Joel Pineiro, who has been scratched due to shoulder issues. First pitch against the Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium is set for 12:05 p.m. CT, with the Cardinals listed as the "visiting" team.
