SAN DIEGO -- Albert Pujols is unsure where reports about an argument between himself and Cardinals manager Tony La Russa came from, but he is sure that he would like to put a stop to the controversy.
Pujols dismissed any notion of angry words being exchanged with his manager during Friday's game in Anaheim, which had been reported elsewhere.
"Ask the guy that wrote about it, because I don't know where he got his story," Pujols said. "I never crossed any words with Tony, so I don't know what that guy in the paper is writing about."
The first baseman went on further to curtail any follow-up about the situation.
"We need to flip that page, because I don't want to talk about it," Pujols said.
